Pinoy Tambayan (Filipino Street Food)

I recently visited Pinoy Tambayan for some Filipino street food. The food was enjoyable, but be prepared to wait, as they seem to be understaffed. During busy times, service can take quite a while. Parking can also be difficult, especially during peak hours, so plan accordingly. If you’re visiting in the summer, I recommend bringing a portable fan because it can get very hot. It would also help to bring insect repellent since there were quite a few flies and mosquitoes during my visit. I hope the owners consider hiring more staff, adding more fans, and finding ways to improve the parking situation or provide guidance on nearby parking. With a few improvements, this could be an even better place to enjoy authentic Filipino street food.

My boyfriend and I almost drove past this place and we would never have forgiven ourselves. He spotted their Instagram story and noticed they were on Culebra — which confused us both since we live just down the road near Sabinas and Culebra and had never noticed it. There are no Filipino spots in this area or honestly anywhere inside the loop south of 90, so we had to check it out. Finding it: From westbound Culebra it’s about 600 feet past the Bill Miller’s at General McMullen. The front looks like a house. Don’t go to the front door — look for the sign directing you to the right side. Walk through the carport, follow the hopscotch path, and it opens into a full backyard setup with covered seating, giant fans, a karaoke stage, and Gene running the grill like a culinary command center. They provide mosquito repellent. They thought of everything. The food: Gene deserves his flowers loudly and publicly. We got grilled chicken, pork, chicken feet, pig ears, and pork intestines — all impeccably cleaned. That matters more than people realize. Offal cuts require hard boiling, scraping, and often a salt and vinegar scrub. When done right they should be completely mild and take on whatev

BLUF: Great selection and atmosphere with authentic Filipino street food vibes — just be prepared for limited parking and a smaller seating area. Stopped by Pinoy Tambayan and was impressed with the variety. The menu has a wide range of options, especially if you’re looking to try different Filipino street foods. From what we tried: * Balut was solid * Coconut was refreshing * The show/experience added to the visit Those are the items I can personally speak to, but the overall selection looked strong across the board. A couple things to note: * Parking can be a challenge — mostly street parking * Seating is limited, probably around 50 people or less That said, the atmosphere really stands out. It has that nostalgic feel, especially with the Sari-Sari store setup. My nephew really enjoyed that aspect, which added to the experience. Overall, a good spot with authentic vibes. We’d come back.

They’re really welcoming, and the streetfood are super cheap! Tastes like home! 💙💙💙Ate Tinay and Ate Marylou are great hosts. Love it here, will definitely come back! Sarap ng chili garlic for siomai!
